At the meeting, leader of the Department of Tourism briefly reported on the results of tourism survey for opening the air route in Chiang Mai (Thailand) in Thailand at the end of February of 2017.

Accordingly, leaders of the two provinces of Quang Binh and Chiang Mai agreed to ink a cooperation agreement on tourism promotion and opening of Dong Hoi - Chiang Mai air route.

On basis of discussion at the meeting, leader of the Provincial People's Committee and Jetstar Pacific Airlines highly agreed on the opening of Dong Hoi - Chiang Mai (Thailand) air route and an opening ceremony of the air route with a capacity of two flights per week on June 16th.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Hoai acknowledged the efforts of Jetstar Pacific Airlines in opening the Dong Hoi - Chiang Mai air route.

The opening of Dong Hoi Chiang Mai air route is very necessary to promote tourism and socio-economic development of the province, he affirmed.

In order to well prepare for opening new air route, Chairman asked the Department of Transport in collaboration with Dong Hoi Airlines and Jetstar Pacific Airlines to prepare procedures for granting license as scheduled as well as infrastructures, equipment and other essential conditions.
