More activities to mark 70th anniversary of Wounded Soldiers' and Martyrs' Day

(Quang Binh Portal) - A wide range of meaningful activities have been held to mark the 70th anniversary of Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day (July 27).
A senior delegation led provincial leaders on July 26th visited and burnt incenses in memory of General Vo Nguyen Giap's tomb in Vung Chua, Quang Dong commune (Quang Trach district).

Attending an incense-offering ceremony were Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party's Committee Tran Cong Thuat, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Quang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Truong An Ninh and representatives of departments and agencies.

In the solemn atmosphere, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party's Committee and his delegation respectfully offered incenses to General Vo Nguyen Giap's tomb and spent a minute's silence in commemoration of the General - an outstanding student of President Ho Chi Minh, the first General-Commander In Chief of the Vietnam People's Army, an excellent son of Quang Binh homeland.

On this occasion, the senior delegation graciously inquired about the health and presented gifts to soldiers of the guard team at the General's tomb.

Earlier, a delegation led by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tien Dung on July 25th visited, offered incense and flowers at the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery and Road 9 National Martyrs' Cemetery (Quang Tri province) and Long Dai ferry.

At the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery where more than 10.263 country-wide martyrs and the Road 9 National Martyrs' Cemetery where more than 10.000 martyrs fell down for national protection and independence, the delegation burned incense and placed wreaths of flower.

In the solemn and respectful atmosphere, delegation members extended sincere gratitude to heroic martyrs who sacrificed their youth and lives in national revolution and reunification.

To deserve the great sacrifice of heroic martyrs for country's independence and freedom, the Party Committee and people of Quang Binh will make more efforts; make promises to unite as one, wholeheartedly strive for a beautiful and civilized country.

On July 24th, a delegation led by Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Quang paid a visit and presented gifts to people with great contributions to the Vietnam revolution in Tuyen Hoa district.

On behalf of provincial leaders, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee visited Mrs. Pham Thi Hien's family, mother of martyr Le Van Hien in Tien Hoa commune and Mrs. Tran Thi Lien's family with great contributions to the revolution in Duc Hoa commune (Tuyen Hoa district).

At the visits, Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee conveyed his wish for good health to families while wanting them to uphold revolutionary tradition and further encourage their descendants to make more contributions to the national cause of construction and defence. Vice Chairman also asked local authorities to pay more attention to supporting people with great contributions to the Vietnam revolution in the locality.
