Despite many difficulties, thanks to the drastic and timely guidance of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 prevention and control, and the participation of the whole political system; COVID -19 prevention and control achieved important results. Up to now, no infection has been recorded in the province.

In the field of agriculture, the production of the Winter - Spring crop of 2019 - 2020 was implemented in accordance with the seasonal schedule with a total estimated area of 54,950 hectares, up 0.6% compared to the previous Winter - Spring crop. Cattle and poultry have grown relatively stable, in which the total number of pigs has increased again after controlled hog cholera in Africa; breeding buffaloes and cows have gradually developed in terms of herd size; the total poultry population has increased, contributing to the replacement of pork food.

Activities of production, processing, import, export and consumption of woodchips were difficult, so the output of exploited wood from planted forests in the first 4 months reached only 93,000 m3, a decline of 14.6% over the same period. Total retail sales of goods and services in the first 4 months were estimated at VND 13,882 billion, down 5.2%. Particularly, production and exploitation of aquaculture were estimated at 21,415 tons, up 6.8% over the same period. The number of tourists to Quang Binh was estimated at 502,500 arrivals, down 64% over the same period in 2019 and 68% compared to the plan in 2020, of which international tourists were estimated to reach 49,130 arrivals, a decrease of 39% over the same period and45% compared to the plan in 2020.

In the field of culture and society, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, pupils at all levels from preschool to high school and students of continuing educational institutions had to extend days off from school to ensure safety. The province instructed units to deploy and monitor the online and television teaching activities regularly under the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training. On May 4, 2020, students of all grades returned to their schools. Activities of medical examination and treatment, health care for people and social security continues to be concerned and implemented effectively. At the meeting, the delegates exchanged and discussed some difficulties and obstacles in implementing the tasks in April as well as in the first 4 months of 2020 and proposed many solutions to contribute implementing effectively the task of socio-economic development in the coming time. Accordingly, departments, branches and localities continue coordinating and promoting the propagation of the prevention and control of Covid-19 pandemic; coordinate to implement the support of people affected by the epidemic seriously and effectively; promote the reform of administrative procedures...

Speaking at the working session, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted that departments, agencies, localities needed to be proactive and strengthen the synchronous implementation of solutions to promote socio-economic development, maintain national defense and security and prevention of Covid-19 pandemic. Specifically, it is necessary to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the Prime Minister's direction on the prevention and control of Covid-19 pandemic; focus on seriously supporting the people directly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic; actively remove difficulties for businesses to promote production and business; strengthen collection management, prevent revenue loss and reduce tax arrears; promote tourism propaganda; focus on directing the harvesting of winter-spring crops, take initiative in irrigation water to ensure the successful summer-autumn crop production; strengthen forest fire prevention and fighting, especially in the peak months of the dry season, strictly handle acts of deforestation; focus on disbursing public investment capital; promote reform of administrative procedures, build e-government ...
