Promote new international air route between Dong Hoi and Chiang Mai in Thailand

 (Quang Binh Portal) - The Quang Binh Provincial Department of Tourism in coordination with Jetstar Pacific together with the supports of the Tourism Association of Chiang Mai (Thailand) and the Tourism Authority of Thailand in Chiang Rai held a press conference to promote a new international air route between Dong Hoi and Chiang Mai.
The event was attended by the Vietnam Travel Association, the Thailand Tourism Association, the Chiang Mai Tourism Association, the Chiang Rai Tourism Council together with nearly 200 tourism enterprises and press agencies in Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and neighboring provinces.


Conference to promote Quang Binh tourism in Chiang Mai

The press conference focused on popularsing potentials and advantages of Quang Binh - Chiang Mai - Chiang Rai tourism. Quang Binh is regarded as a province that has many potentials for tourism development with a diversified and abundant resource of tourism, especially the world's natural heritage site, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park with more than 300 mysterious caves.

Quang Binh is home to beautiful beaches, historical relics and unique values of intangible cultural heritages such as Ho Khoan and Ca tru. This is also the land of many outstanding brilliants such as General Vo Nguyen Giap, Madarin Nguyen Huu Canh, Duong Van An, etc.

Chiang Mai is the largest province in northern Thailand and the second largest tourism center of Thailand with nearly 10 million tourists in 2016. Being a former capital of the Kingdom of Lan Na (1296–1768), Chiang Mai is home to Buddhist architectural works, unique cultural values with hundreds of famous pagodas and temples such as Wat Phra Sigh, Wat Chedi Luan, Doi Suthep... together with beautiful natural landscapes and strong development of service system, meeting the demand for shopping of tourists.


Quang Binh tourism promotion in Chiang Rai

About 240km from Chiang Mai province, Chiang Rai is the city of King Mengrai with a long history, including four main tourism center: Golden Triangle, Mea Sai, Chiang Saen and Chiang Khong. This is famous for unique architectural works such as Wat Rong Khun (White Pagoda), Baan Dam Museum (Black House), Mae Khachan Hot Spring, etc.

Quang Binh - Chiang Mai is the first international air route in Quang Binh, helping local people access attractive tourism products of Thailand such as Chiag Mai, Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle while creating favorable conditions for foreigners from Thailand to Vietnam.

It is known that the first flight on the route is scheduled to take off on August 11 with two flights per week on Mondays and Fridays, using the 180-seat Airbus A320 with total flying time of around one hour and 45 minutes.

Tickets are officially sold on the Jetstar's website at address: www.jetstar.com and at official ticket offices and agencies nationwide on July 20 at 11:00.

On the occasion of the launch of the new international route, Jestart Pacific offered promotional air fares at only 410,000 VND per leg, along with other promotions.
