Hoang Phuc pagoda recognized as a national relic
The Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism required the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee to strengthen state management to the relic according to the regulations on cultural heritage.
Hoang Phuc pagoda (also known as Kinh Thien Pagoda) is located in My Thuy commune, Le Thuy district. The 700-year-old Buddhist pagoda is one of the central region’s oldest and boasts the architecture typical of the country’s culturally thriving Tran Dynasty (1225-1400). The pagoda is still home to a number of prized, time-honored artifacts. In November, authorities of the Quang Binh Province commenced a VND40.4 billion (US$1.9 million) restoration project to rebuild the pagoda, which is a historical site in the locality. In 2010, Hoang Phuc pagoda was recognized as provincial-level historical relic.
