Establishing the Forest Conservation and World Heritage Center

The People's Committee of Quang Binh province has decided to establish the Forest Conservation and World Heritage Center, under the Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Management Board.

The People's Committee of Quang Binh province has recently decided to establish the Forest Conservation and World Heritage Center, which will operate under the management of the Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Management Board.

The Forest Conservation and World Heritage Center will operate as a public, non-profit unit with financial autonomy. It will have its own legal status, seals, and separate accounts at the State Treasury and Bank. The Center will be directly led and guided by the Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Management Board in terms of organization, personnel, and forest protection efforts.

The organizational structure of the Center includes a Director and Deputy Directors, with 14 departments, teams, and forest protection stations, replacing the previous 15 units. The Center has a total of 129 career positions, all funded by the state budget. The primary objective of the Center is to safeguard the forest resources and World Heritage site at Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, which is home to an ecosystem and cultural and historical values of significant importance.

Mr. Pham Van Tan, the Head of the Forest Ranger Station of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, has been appointed as the Director of the Center, ensuring effective leadership in forest protection and the promotion of heritage values.
