The southwest of Le Thuy district has near 250 households with 1,300 people, mainly ethnic minority people; the people's life encounters many difficulties, rate of poor household makes up 70%. In order to promote development of regional economy and help local people stabilize their life, the province has been implementing some programs and projects such as program 134 and 135, project for gold exploration in Xa Khia, project for forestry afforestation and protection.

Chairman Phan Lam Phuong praised the awareness and responsibility of units and people in management and protection of forestry. He asked local authority to closely co-ordinate with the afforestation yards in strengthening patrol and inspection; strictly solving cases of illegal logging. Chairman assigned Department of Planning and Investment together with the People's Committee of Le Thuy district to consider and set up the project for building rural road and resident house for teachers.
