Provincial leader pays homage to martyrs’ cemetery in Quang Tri province

(Quang Binh Website) - A deleation of the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee, led by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Tien Dung on July 24th visited and offered incense at the Truong Son National Martyrs’ Cemetery and the Road 9 National Martyrs’ Cemetery in Quang Tri province.

The delegation’s visit to Quang Tri province was a part of activities to celebrate the 67th anniversary of Invalids and Martyrs’ Day.

The Truong Son National Martyrs’ Cemetery and the Road 9 National Martyrs’ Cemetery gathered more than 20,000 tombs of martyrs who courageously struggled and sacrificed their lives on Truong Son road, Road No.9 and Laos battlefield.

On behalf of the delegation, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and members burnt incense and offered flowers in commemoration of heroes and martyrs who devoted their’s whole life for national independence.

In the past years, the province has paid much attention to "paying debts of gratitude" movements and regularly paid visits to the Truong Son National Martyrs’ Cemetery and the Road 9 National Martyrs’ Cemetery, expressing the deep affection of Quang Binh people to martyrs who sacrificed for the fatherland.

This was a meaningful activity, expressing the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source" and deep gratitude of the Party, authority, armed forces and people of Quang Binh province to heroes and martyrs who sacrificed their lives and struggled for national independence and freedom.
