''Companion in arms'' study encouragement scholarship awarded
(Quang Binh Website) - The Provincial Study Promotion Association has recently held a ceremony to grant "Companion in arms" study encouragement scholarship of 2008 to 50 pupils and students who are children of the wounded and sick soldiers, martyrs' families, veterans, disabled children and Agent Orange victims.
Each scholarship was valued at VND500,000. The districts and city were given scholarships in this phase, including: Dong Hoi city (15 scholarships), Quang Trach district (15 scholarships), Bo Trach district (10 scholarships) and Quang Ninh district (10 scholarships).
"Companion in arms" study encouragement scholarship's fund was established in October 2007 at the suggestion of Former General Secretary of the Vietnamese Communist Party Le Kha Phieu. The Fund's objective is to encourage study movement and support for outstanding but poor pupils who are children of the wounded and sick soldiers, martyrs' families and revolution's credited people.
