The north-central region is one of seven economic regions of the country, including six provinces of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri và Thua Thien Hue. This region has great potential for infrastructure and natural conditions for the general economic development, especially agriculture. It also has advantages in road, railway, sea and aviation transport, facilitating transportation of goods and abundant human.

Representatives of businesses sign an investment at the forum

At the forum, representatives of the six provinces briefly informed of potential and strengths as well as investment preferential policies of localities to call on businesses to further invest in agriculture and rural development such as rubber plantations, raising cows and developing aquaculture and seafood processing. Investors in these fields will be granted incentives, such as exemption from land tax, financial support of 50-100 percent training fees for workers, 50-70 percent of advertising fees and 50 percent of transportation costs.

The forum is also a good opportunity for investors to directly talk with leaders of ministries, agencies and localities about their difficulties in order to create a favorable investment environment and agricultural development in the north-central provinces in particular and the whole country in general.

On this occasion, leader of Quang Binh province granted Certificate of Investment for the Army Corps No.15 for the project of rubber plantations in three communes of Le Thuy district. The localities and investors signed two contracts on agriculture with foreign companies.

Leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development together with related ministries and agencies paid a visit to the Rao Nan irrigational works in Quang Trach district and shrimp raising farming on sand in Dong Hoi city.
