On behalf of the provincial leaders, Chairman Nguyen Huu Hoai informed of obtained results in cooperation between Quang Binh (Vietnam) and Khammouane and Savanakhet (Laos), especially in the fields of security and national defence, transport, education and training, health, science and technology.

"2012 is the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Year, the 35th anniversary of the signing of their bilateral Friendship and Cooperation Treaty as well as the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties, therefore, Quang Binh province will focus on celebrating a range of activities, including cultural, sports and arts exchanges throughout the year to strengthen the traditional ties of special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries", Chairman stressed.

Chairman also expressed his desire that the ambassador would further boost friendship and solidarity relations between Vietnam and Laos in general, Quang Binh and Khammouane and Savanakhet in particular, contributing to socio-economic development, improving the spiritual and material life for people and defending sovereignty and territorial integrity of two countries.

At the talk, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao PDR thanked Chairman of the Quang Binh People's Committee for royal reception and highly appreciated obtained results and cooperation between two countries in general and provinces in particular.

Ambassador hoped that in future, Quang Binh would continue to create favorable conditions to help Khammouane and Savanakhet provinces in building infrastructures and training human resources, so on.
