Signing ceremony of agreement between two provinces of Quang Binh and Savannakhet

High-ranking leaders of two provinces had a talk to sign a cooperation agreement between Quang Binh and Savannakhet provinces.

At the talks, two sides informed each other of socio-economic development situation, security and national defence, work of building the Party, authorities, fronts and unions of each province and reviewed the implementation of friendly cooperation agreement signed in Dong Hoi city (Quang Binh province) on July 18, 2011.

Two sides discussed and exchanged views on cooperation agreement in 2013 with the following contents.

Two sides will continue maintaining a periodic exchange between the high-ranking delegations of two provinces; strengthen special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos in general and between Quang Binh and Savannakhet in particular; create favorable conditions for the Parties, authorities, agencies and unions of two provinces to exchange experience; strengthen cooperation between the districts sharing the borderline (Le Thuy and Sepon) of two provinces.

Quang Binh province will continue investing and upgrading the road 16 to Chut Mut - La Von border gate. Two provinces agree to exchange information, documents and experience to publicize and exploit tourism potentials along the East-West Economic Corridor; organize and participate in trade fairs and commodity exhibition; and strengthen trade promotion in each province.

Quang Binh province will also create all favorable conditions and assist students of Savannakhet province in their study in Quang Binh province.

Two sides will strengthen cooperation and exchange information and experience in national defence and border security; build a border line of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation and development; deal with border issues according to the agreement on Vietnam - Lao border regulations.

Two provinces will inform each other of specific situation relating to border issues and closely coordinate in the fight against plots of hostile forces and reactionary viewpoints.

Secretary of the Quang Binh provincial Party Committee Luong Ngoc Binh expressed his thanks to warm reception of Savannakhet province and invited high-ranking delegation of Savannakhet province to pay an official visit to Quang Binh which leaders of Savannakhet province accepted with pleasure.

Following the talks, two high-ranking delegations signed a cooperation agreement between Quang Binh and Savannakhet provinces.
