Embassy of Ireland in Vietnam donates EUR117,805 for comprehensive development of persons with disabilities in Quang Binh

 (Quang Binh Portal) - The Provincial People"s Committee approved Decision No.985/QD-UBND on receiving a foreign non-governmental aid funded by the Embassy of Ireland in Vietnam.

Accordingly, the Embassy of Ireland in Vietnam donates EUR117,805 for Quang Binh province to implement the project of creating an equal opportunity for comprehensive development of youths and ethnic minority people with disabilities.

The project aims to promote social integration of youths with disabilities through strengthening economic opportunities and inspiration for persons with disabilities, expressing the enthusiasm, self-confidence and self-reliance in their life; to create equal opportunities for persons with disabilities, helping them learn about the rights and awareness of responsibility of persons with disabilities.

The project includes a series of main activities such as building a network of 8 clubs to support for youths with disabilities, contributing to creat a space for persons with disbilities to develop as other youths in the society; improving capacity for youths with disabilities through training life skills, technologial and information skills; supporting 16 initiatives on socio-economic development and production and business group of disabled youths; training 02 courses on rehabilitation for youths with disabilities and families; having talks between disabled youths and enterprises in order to create more opportunities to seek employments; providing a support for persons with disabilities to improve their abilities and sustainable livelihood development; organizing a training course for authorities and ethnic minority people with disabilities in three targeted communes on the rights of persons with disabilities, etc.

The project will be carried out in 2017.

The Provincial People's Committee asked the Association for Development of Persons with Disabilities and related units and localities to receive and use source of aids effectively according to regulations of the State on managing and using foreign non-governmental aids.
