High-ranking delegation of Quang Binh province attends 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations and 40 years of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty
Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Hoai, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, Chairman of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee of Quang binh province Tran Van Tuan and others attended this event.

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor of Savannakhet Santiphap Phomvihane applauded the attendances of the high-raking delegations of Vietnam to mark two important events of the Partys' Committee, government and people of Lao clans.
He stated that this event affirmed the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two parties, states and people of Vietnam and Laos. The friendship and solidarity was nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane, President Souphanouvong and generations of leaders of the two states, he added.
The 40 years of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty and 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations is a firm basis for the two countries to reinforce and further tighten the friendship and comprehensive cooperation.

Overview of the ceremony
In recent years, although the world's situation has seen many changes, the Party, State and People of Vietnam and Laos have still strengthened friendly and cooperative relations. Vietnam has also helped Laos in the fields such as security - national defence, economy - culture and development of human resource with many projects and programs on infrastructure development.

Besides, Vietnam has also supported Laos in development of socio-economic infrastructure, especially construction of Kaysone Phomvihane cultural house, worth USD8.5 million, as a gift to Savannakhet province on the visit of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. Quang Binh has also assisted to build Quang Binh - Savannakhet Friendship Kindergarten with a total cost of VND10 billion, etc.

On this occasion, the high-ranking delegations of Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue provinces and Ho Chi Minh City visited and offered incense at the monument of President Ho Chi Minh and offered flowers at the statue of President Kaysone Phomvihane. Then, the delegation also attended the opening ceremony of trade fair of Ho Chi Minh City at the Savan-Itec Trade Center.
