Up to now, the general planning for the construction of Hon La Economic Zone, Southeast Quang Tri , Cha Lo International Border Gate and Lao Bao Special Trade Economic Zone has been approved by the Prime Minister. In the provincial planning, the system of 23 industrial zones with a total area of ​​about 6,140 hectares has been clearly oriented in terms of development goals and space. Of which, 19/23 industrial zones (total area of ​​about 5,160 hectares) have been approved for zoning and detailed planning, which is an important basis for investing in infrastructure construction and attracting investors.

According to data from the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board, in the period of 2021-2025, the total capital allocated for infrastructure development and site clearance of economic zones and industrial parks is 605 billion VND; of which, the central budget is 308 billion VND, the local budget is 297 billion VND. The infrastructure system of economic zones and industrial parks is increasingly complete, promoting efficiency, creating clean land funds for investment in production and business. Regarding investment attraction, up to now, economic zones and industrial parks in the province have attracted 393 projects with a total registered capital of about 241,000 billion VND, of which 223 projects have come into operation. The total budget revenue in industrial parks and economic zones is estimated at over 600 billion VND/year. The total number of employees in industrial parks and economic zones is over 12,000 people, with an average income of about 7.8 million VND/month.
