Floods damage harvest in Quang Binh

Vien is drying rice which has been submerged in the flood
Most households in the district are also in the same situation. Locals said they hadn't seen such serious floods for a century.
Le Van Bao, chairman of Le Thuy District, said early estimates for total damage was at VND196bn (USD8.78m). Thousands of houses, schools, medical facilities and other public constructions were submerged or unroofed.

Over 2,000 tonnes of rice damaged in Le Thuy District
Over 2,000 tonnes of rice were submerged for days and tens of thousands of poultry were swept away in Le Thuy District alone.
On October 18, the government allocated 1,500 tonnes of rice to Quang Binh Province to support flood victims.
Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung also asked agencies to quickly review the damage to crops and infrastructure to support people in Thua Thien-Hue Province. The local authorities were asked to clean the streets to avoid diseases and restore transport links.
