Report on planning frame for development of Phong Nha - Ke Bang Project area
The meeting was attended by PPC Vice-chairman Tran Cong Thuat; representatives of KFW and GTZ; members of the Project Steering Committee; representatives of related departments and branches.
Phong Nha - Ke Bang (PNKB) Project, invested by the Department of Planning and Investment, included two components. KFW provided for financial support and GTZ for technical support. The project will be carried out in 8 years, from 2008 to 2016 with the target of improving management and preservation of natural resource and socio-economic development in PNKB National Park area. The meeting spent much time to discuss on planning frame for development of PNKB project area; analyse and answer questions about the master plan for development of PNKB project area.
Giving a closing speech at the meeting, PPC Chairman Phan Lam Phuong asked the Project Management Board need to specify the sphere of bufferzone management. He underlined that the master plan for sustainable tourism development should be developed towards preserving biological diversity, reducing a human being's intervention in natural development and actively promoting the values of the World Natural Heritage Phong Nha - Ka Bang National Park.
