Provincial People's Committee's October regular meeting 2009
At the meeting, delegates listened report of leader of the Planning and Investment Department on the province’s socio-economic situation in October. Despite of meeting difficulties in disadvantaged weather, the province’s socio-economic situation has remained a stable growth rate. As estimated, the total area under cultivation of spring-winter crop achieved 1,313.5 ha, increased by 5.0% against the same period; the area under afforestation was 500ha, increased by 0.2% against the same period; the total output of exploited and raised fishery in October was 3,033.4 tons, equaling to 79.7% against last month; the industrial production value was VND292.8 billion in October and VND2,502.9 billion in ten months, reached 79% of the plan, increased by 17.65 against the same period; the total capital construction investment in October reached VND97.2 billion, increased by 11% compared with the same period; the total retail sales of goods and service turnover achieved VND610.8 billion in October, VND5,831.8 billion in ten months, surpassed by 3.5% of the plan, increased by 18% compared with same period; the State budget revenues in ten months were estimated achieving VND852.3 billion. A lot of big changes have been seen in health, education - training, culture - sport, information-communications, internal affairs, inspection and justice. National defence and security have been upheld. The people’s life has been stabilized and improved step by step.

Giving a closing speech at the meeting, Vice-chairman Nguyen Huu Hoai highly appraised obtained results in the socio-economic fields in the past time and asked agencies, units and localities to focus on overcoming the consequences caused by Storm No.9; speeding up production for winter crop and directing the implementation of spring-winter crop of 2009-2010; furthering industry and handicraft production; solving difficulties for the enterprises, especially big enterprises; supervising and speeding up investors and contractors to accelerate the process of building key projects; promoting reimbursement of capital construction investment; strengthening the effectiveness of implementation of program 134-135, the plan on deleting thatched cottages for poor households; the job solving program and social policies.
