Candle-burning ceremony in tribute to heroic martyrs at Ba Doc Martyrs' Cemetery

(Quang Binh Portal) - In the evening of July 26th, the Provincial Party Committe, People"s Council, People"s Committe and the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee solemnly held a ceremony to offer incense, lay wreaths and burn candles in tribute to heroic martyrs at the Ba Doc Martyrs Cemetery on the 70th National War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2017).
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Hoang Dang Quang, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Tran Cong Thuat, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party's Committee together with members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of departments and branches, unions, Dong Hoi city, Bo Trach district and more than 1,500 union members and youths in the province.

Opening the ceremony was a special art program entitled "Mau hoa do" with many songs in praise of great sacrifices made by heroic martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of national liberation and unification.

The program was jointly organized by the Provincial Youth Union and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.

After a minute's silence in memory of heroic martyrs, the provincial leaders rang bell and offered incense at the war memorial, and burnt candles at tombs of martyrs.

This is an annual activity to express a deep gratitude to heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland as well as the peaceful life and happiness of the people.
