Phong Nha - Ke Bang Honored with Two World Travel Awards 2026

On the evening of September 27, in the Maldives, a delegation from Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, Quang Tri Province, attended the 2026 World Travel Awards ceremony for Asia, Oceania and the Indian Ocean.

At the ceremony, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park was honored in two categories: “Asia’s Leading National Park 2026” and “Vietnam’s Leading Nature Destination 2026.”

Being honored at both the Asian and national levels further affirms the appeal and brand of Phong Nha - Ke Bang, a prominent destination renowned for its unique karst landscapes, spectacular cave systems, underground rivers and globally significant biodiversity.

At the event, Mr. Dinh Huy Tri, Deputy Director of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, gave interviews to international media, highlighting the outstanding values of the World Heritage Site, its tourism potential and the distinctive tourism products offered by Phong Nha - Ke Bang.

Mr. Dinh Huy Tri said: “The two awards are a great honor, but they also place greater responsibility on us to conserve nature and safeguard the values of the World Heritage Site. Conservation will always be the foundation for Phong Nha - Ke Bang to develop sustainable tourism and remain one of the world's most attractive nature destinations. Through these awards, we hope to bring Phong Nha - Ke Bang, Quang Tri and Vietnam closer to travelers around the world.”

On the sidelines of the awards ceremony, the Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park delegation actively conducted tourism promotion and destination marketing activities, showcasing images, promotional materials and tourism products of Phong Nha - Ke Bang and Quang Tri Province to delegates, businesses and international tourism organizations.

The delegation also met and exchanged views with Mr. Graham Cooke, President of World Group and Founder of the World Travel Awards; Mr. Abdulla Yasir, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Visit Maldives Corporation; representatives of the Maldives - Vietnam Trade Association; and other international partners. Discussions focused on destination promotion, market connectivity, experience sharing, expanding cooperation opportunities, and attracting international visitors to Phong Nha - Ke Bang and Quang Tri.

The two awards, together with the promotional activities conducted at the event, provide an opportunity for Phong Nha - Ke Bang and Quang Tri's tourism sector to further enhance their international profile and brand recognition, with a focus on developing high-quality and sustainable tourism while conserving and promoting the values of the World Heritage Site.
