The ceremony to receive and bury remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who lost their lives in Laos battlefield laid to the rest

(Quang Binh Portal) - On the morning of May 9, 2019, the Provincial Party Committee, People"s Council, People"s Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee solemnly held a ceremony to receive and bury remains of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts who sacrificed in Laos for repatriation at Ba Doc Martyrs’ Cemetery in Bo Trach of Quang Binh province.

Attending the ceremony were Colonel Doan Cong Hoa, Deputy Director of the Policy Department, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Mr. Khamsy Outhivong, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Governor, Head of the Special Working Committee of Khammouane province. On the side of the province, there were Mr. Hoang Dang Quang, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Tran Thang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Tran Cong Thuat, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly delegation; comrades in the Standing Committee of the People's Council, People's Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and representatives of leaders of agencies, departments and branches in the province.


Brought remains of martyrs to the homeland

Implementing the policy of the Party and Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Lao PDR on seeking and collecting graves of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts who sacrificed in Laos battlefield during the two resistance wars against invaders, in the last dry season, with the dedicated assistance of the Party Committee, Army and People of Khammouane province, 589 corps of the Quang Binh Military Command searched and collected 17 sets of martyrs' remains in Laos. This is the 40th time Quang Binh province has received remains of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts who laid down their lives at Laos battlefield for repatriation. It is the result of great, clear, faithful friendship and special solidarity tradition between Vietnam and Laos, the innocent assistance of the Party, government and People of Laos’ Khammounane province.


589 Corps of the Quang Binh provincial Military Command found and collected 17 of martyrs' remains from Laos

Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Special Working Committee on behalf of the Party Committee, government, armed forces and People of Quang Binh province thanked the precious and beautiful sentiments of the Party, government and Laotian People of Khammounane province, thanked the attention and assistance of the two Governments, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the 4th Military Region Command created all conditions for Quang Binh province to implement the Government's policy on searching and collection of martyrs with high result. He promised to be determined to protect and build his homeland and country to be more prosperous, to cultivate the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos; regularly take care of the graves, that is eternal resting place of heroic martyrs; take care of better and better policy of gratitude and will do all we can to find, collect martyrs remains on Laos battlefield to repatriate...
