Attending the meeting were Mr. Mika Karkkainen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Econet Group; Ms. Maija Seppala, Development Policy Counselor, Embassy of Finland in Vietnam; representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches and localities and units.

At the meeting, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Econet Group thanked for respectful reception of the provincial leaders, and introduced basic information, strength and potential of the Group, especially specialized in designing and creating solutions for clean water and environment for partners and customers in Finland and around the world. In Vietnam, Econet Group has implemented more than 10 projects on drainage system, collection and treatment of wastewater, water supply and environmental sanitation in a number of provinces and cities.

After a period of interruption due to the epidemic situation and changes in the world, Econet Group looks forward to continuing to strengthen cooperation with  partners, including Quang Binh province to implement projects that are called for by the locality and the strength of the Group, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Econet Group said. 

Within the framework of the meeting, leaders of departments and branches of Quang Binh province and members of the delegation of Econet Group exchanged and discussed the areas that Quang Binh province wishes to invest, plan to develop the Group's projects on clean water, environment, waste collection and treatment as well as the mechanism to access capital and aid from the Public Investment Fund of Finland (PIF).

Speaking at the meeting, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that in 2019, the delegation of leaders of Quang Binh province had a business trip to Finland and worked with Econet Group. Accordingly, the two sides had many significant agreements, in which Quang Binh province committed to create all favorable conditions for the Group to implement projects in the province. Provincial leaders always respect the commitments and desire to cooperate with Econet Group as well as the Government of Finland in many fields. He also believed that with the ability to access advanced scientific and technological  in the world, the Group will have effective investment activities in Quang Binh province to develop a circular economy towards green and sustainable growth. 

In addition, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also wished that the Group would study and focus on investing in Quang Binh in the fields of clean water supply, environmental sanitation and waste treatment in the localities of the province, minimizing the impact of greenhouse gas emissions... He also assigned the responsibility to departments, branches and localities to coordinate with Econet Group to survey areas where the project can be implemented, have a feasibility report and evaluate the possibility of investment cooperation in the fields of clean water, environment, and waste treatment in the province to submit to competent authorities for consideration and decision.
