Rare gibbons spotted near Quang Binh residential area
A troop of rare white-cheeked gibbons has appeared near a residential area in the central province of Quang Binh.
The troops of around 30 gibbons were seen several times on a mountain by HCM City Trail, near houses in Khe Cat Village in Truong Son Commune and Khe Cat Primary School.

According to locals, the animals come down next to the school fence.
Nguyen Van Long, Head of the Quang Binh Forest Protection Department, said that the agency has arranged for staff members to inspect the situation to protect the rare gibbon.
Meanwhile, local authorities have called on people to protect the gibbons.
The white-cheeked gibbon, also known as the Hatinh langur, is a critically endangered species that must be preserved.
