PPC Vice Chairman Tran Van Tuan visits to Ruc ethnic group

(Quang Binh Website) - On June 13, a mission of the Provincial People’s Committee, led by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Tuan went on an inspection tour about the implementation of the project of building the road to Ruc village and visited to Ruc ethnic group and border post No.585 (Ca Xeng).

Accompanying with the Vice Chairman were representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Transport, the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Ethnic Minority Board, the Offices of the provincial People’s Committee and Minh Hoa district.

The project of building the road to Ruc village has a total investment of VND 40 billion from source of capital of the Ministry of National Defense and the Government’s bond. Inaugurated in April of 2011, the project is expected to be completed in October of 2012. It is known that this is a hazardous and slippery stretch of road in the rains, separating the Ruc ethnic group with other areas.

After carrying out the field trip and visiting the life of the Ruc ethnic group, Vice Chairman and his mission paid a visit to the border post No.585.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman highly appreciated the efforts and results that the border post No.585 obtained in the past time. He expressed his hope that the border post would continue to fulfill the national defense missions and help the ethnic minority to improve the quality of their life.

The line departments and Minh Hoa district should pay attention to the life of ethnic minority, coordinate with the provincial Border Guard Command to open the classes to eliminate illiteracy for the Ruc ethnic group and help them develop production, contributing to improving income for local people, Vice Chairman said.

Vice Chairman also asked the provincial Border Guard Command to map out the plan for supervising and speeding up the progress of building the road to Ruc village, ensuring the quality and completing the project as scheduled plan.
