Minh Hoa is a mountainous district of Quang Binh province, the people's life here is very difficult. In order to create condition for households to escape the poverty, in 2007, implementing the Program 134 of supporting houses, farmland and running water supply for ethnic minority people in Minh Hoa, the whole district had 1,309 households supported to build houses from Programme 134 with total investment of VND10 billion, in which 550 houses in Dan Hoa commune and 511 in Trong Hoa; three running water projects were built in two communes of Dan Hoa and Trong Hoa, with total investment of about VND2.5 billion; 886 households were issued the certificate of land use right, with total land area of 820,127m2 and 231 households were allocated land for production, with total land area of 471,831m2.

With achieved results of implementing Programme 134, the life of ethnic minority people is gradually improved, contributing to promoting the local econonic development.
