A traditional programme to meet youth volunteers force with theme: ''Living Forever with Age 20''

(Quang Binh Website) - In the evening of May 8 2009, a traditional programme to meet the youth volunteers force with the theme "Living Forever with Age 20" was solemnly held at the provincial Center for Culture and Information. This was an event among a wide range of other activities to mark the 50th anniversary of Legendary Truong Son Trail's establishment, jointly organized by the Central Committee of the Youth Union, the Quang Binh provincial People's Committee together with the Central Committee of the Former Youth Volunteers Association.

Attending the programme was Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Central Union; Mr. An Dinh Doanh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Central Union, Commander-in-chief of the youth volunteers forces together with many generations of former youth volunteers from many provinces and cities nationwide. On the side of the province, there was Mr Luong Ngoc Binh, secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Phan Lam Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee together with leading representative of departments and branches in the province.

A exchange with youth volunteer soldiers of new generation

The programme was taken place in a warm and excited atmosphere through historical stories, valuable documentary films and well-known revolutionary songs... with the attendance of many guests who are former youth volunteers. They reviewed together the memories of a grand history of the nation. At present, the youth volunteers soldiers of the new generation still uphold and bring into play the glorious tradition with feat of arms in the fronts in the new age.

With the goal to educate and remind young generations of the tradition "When drinking water, remember its sources", on this occasion, 30 units and individuals donated to build memorial steles for 16 martyrs who sacrificed at Long Dai ferryboat with the total money of over VND276 million.

Musical performance to end the programme

It is known that in the morning of May 8, former youth volunteers paid a visit to the old battlefield and offered incense at the Tam Co Cave in Bo Trach district.
