The Project of Quang Trach Electricity Center, located in Vinh Son hamlet, Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district, has the total area of about 250 hectares and is invested by the Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation with the total investment of about US$3 billion. Quang Trach Electricity Center included two thermo-electric plants of Quang Trach 1 and Quang Trach 2 with a total capacity of 2,400 MW. When putting into operation, Quang Trach Electricity Center will solve jobs for over 1,000 local laborers and ensure electric supply for the Central region, contributing to development of construction projects in the area. Under the plan, Quang Trach 1 plant is expected to be operational in 2015, and Quang Trach 2 plant will be put into operation before 2016.

Addressing the meeting, Permanent Vice-chairman Nguyen Huu Hoai asked related agencies and units to quickly implement site clearance and set up the plan for vocational training and job creation for local people in the project area, concurrently create favorable conditions for the investor to carry out the project as scheduled.
