(Quang Binh Website) - On the morning of July 02 2009, the Provincial People's Committee had a working session with the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province and Hung Nghiep Formosa-Ha Tinh Steel Co. Ltd

Attending the working was Vice-chairman of the Ha Tinh People's Committee Vo Kim Cu; Permanent Vice-chairman of the Quang Binh People's Committee Nguyen Huu Hoai and related departments and braches of two provinces of Ha Tinh and Quang Binh.

At the working, representative of Hung Nghiep Formosa-Ha Tinh Steel Co. Ltd briefly reported of the steel refinery project in Ha Tinh. At present, Ha Tinh is carrying out many key projects at national and provincial levels. The source of materials to supply for the projects is very big, especially source of limestone to provide to the steel refinery plants, the thermo-electric plants and cement production plants. However, reserve of limestone in Ha Tinh province is not enough to supply materials for the projects. Through the research and survey, Tuyen Hoa district (Quang Binh) has a rich limestone reserve and advantages in topography and transport which are very convenient for exploitation and transport. Therefore, the goal of this working session with the Quang Binh People's Committee is to suggest Quang Binh province to consider and allow investor to be carried out a survey and planned investment project to exploit mines of limestone in Quang Binh province.

Giving a closing speech, Permanent Vice-chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Hoai agreed with the policy of Formosa Group and allowed it to plan the investment report, in which focusing on the total costs of investment, scale of the project, production technology, area under used land, place, solving jobs for local laborers and paying to the provincial budget... The provincial People's Committee will consider and submit it to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee for the approval.
