Quang Binh Provincial People’s Committee and PVN: sum up partially the two-year implementation of investment cooperation

(Quang Binh Website) – The Quang Binh Provincial People’s Committee and the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Corporation (PVN) held a meeting to sum up partially the two-year implementation of investment cooperation (2008-2010) on June 1, 2010.

Attending the meeting was Mr Luong Ngoc Binh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mr Nguyen Huu Hoai, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee; representative of the related departments, agencies and localities. On the side of the PVN, there was Mr Dinh La Thang, Head of the Board of Management of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Corporation (PVN) and his delegation.

Chairman of the PVN grants gift to the Quang Binh Provincial People’s Committee

After two-year implementation, the investment corporation between the Provincial People’s Committee and PVN has been seen positive changes, opening many new prospects for investment cooperation between two sides in the coming time. At present, the PVN and its member units carries out six key projects in the provincial area. In 2009, the Petroleum Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) signed a contract transferring ownership of Hon La port in the first phase to continue operation, exploit and invest in the following phases. Especially, the Prime Minister approved the project of construction of the Quang Trach Thermo-electric Plant which has a capacity of 1,200 MW with the total investment of VND 29,000 billion and is expected to begin construction in February 2011… From 2009 to now, the PVN paid VND40.84 billion in tax, donated more than VND13 billion to work of social security, poverty alleviation, charity and repairing consequences caused by natural calamity…

Granting VND8.14 billion to Quang Binh province to donate to work of social security

At the meeting, the PVN granted VND8.14 billion to Quang Binh province to build schools, healthcare establishments for the elderly and “great unity" houses for the poor people and provide a support for the elderly in 2010.
