Vallet scholarship granted to outstanding students in Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Ha Tinh

(Quang Binh Website) – On the afternoon of August 30, the ceremony was held to award 377 Vallet scholarships, worth VND1.2 billion to 277 outstanding students in Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Ha Tinh in 2010 and to celebrate the 10th year of Vallet scholarship program.

Attending the award ceremony was Prof.Doctor Tran Thanh Van, President of Rencontres du Vietnam (Meeting Vietnam) organisation; Prof. Doctor Odon Vallet, sponsor of the Vallet scholarship program; Mr. Tran Cong Thuat, Permanent Vice-chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; representatives of related departments and branches and 277 outstanding students who get the Vallet scholarship in 2010.

Prof Odon Vallet grants scholarships to students of Quang Binh University

From 2001 to now, Vallet foundation has presented 2,688 scholarships worth nearly VND5 billion to outstanding students of three central provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Ha Tinh to encourage their studiousness, of which, Quang Binh students have been granted 2,153 scholarship, worth over VND3.8 billion. Alone in 2010, Quang Binh has 277 students getting this scholarship.

Over the last 10 years, the Meeting Vietnam organisation and Odon Vallet scholarship fund has also offered over VND10 billion for construction of schools’ infrastructure and purchasing of teaching equipment in three provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Ha Tinh.

Addressing the ceremony, Permanent Vice-chairman Tran Cong Thuat expressed his thanks to Prof.Doctor Odon Vallet, Prof.Doctor Tran Thanh Van and Meeting Vietnam organisation for their great contributions to the Vietnam’s educational sector in general and the cause of study promotion of three provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Ha Tinh in particular. Vice-chairman Thuat also hoped that these outstanding students would continue to uphold their studiousness, contributing to build the motherland more and more developed.
