Vice-chairman Nguyen Xuan Quang instructed flood prevention in some localities
According to latest figures, heavy rains in the past days flooded 260 households with approximately 8,600 people in Quang Trach district in the water; Mui Rong damp in Quang Tien commune was likely to collapse. At present, all localities take an initiative in evacuating residents in deeply submerged communes of Son Trach, Hung Trach and Lien Trach to safer places.

Torrential rains also flooded 10 communes in Tuyen Hoa district, especially two hardest hit communes of Thanh Hoa and Thach Hoa suffering greatest losses; submerged 400 houses in the water. Many inter-communes roads were flooded in the water, causing traffic jam; some villages and communes were isolated. The district promptly evacuated 416 households with over 1460 people to higher places.

Some areas in Minh Hoa district were completely isolated, like Kim Bang hamlet of Minh Hoa commune and Phu Nhieu hamlet of Thuong Hoa commune; the road going to mountain village of Ruc ethnic people in Thuong Hoa commune was completely isolated; Ba Nuong damp in Xuan Hoa commune was also broken out. The district urgently evacuated 200 households in Tan Hoa commune to higher areas and mobilized 200 border guards to help local people prevent flood.

Communes of Hung Trach and Son Trach in Bo Trach were also isolated by the flood. All localities are urgently evacuating residents in submerged communes and calling on all vessels to safer places.
In order to cope with flood situation, Head of the Quang Binh Province’s Steering Committee for Flood & Storm Prevention & Control and the Committee for Search and Rescue Nguyen Xuan Quang asked the local administration to check and promptly evacuate residents to safer places; provide food, drink and other necessities to local people in deeply flooded areas; ensure communications to timely instruct work of flood prevention in the province.
