63 licenses for mineral mining to be issued
(Quang Binh Website) - In 2010, Quang Binh province has granted 63 licenses for mineral mining and 24 licenses for water resources operations to the businesses. After an inspection, it showed that businesses and individuals have run their operations according to the regulations of the Mineral Law and Water Resources Law.
At present, there are 164 mines with 23 kinds of minerals discovered in Quang Binh including four main groups of natural mineral (peat and fossil coal), metallic mineral (iron, lead, zinc, gold, titan, mangan…), non-metallic mineral (limestone, dolomite, clay, cement clay, kaolin, pegmatite, glass sand, photphorite…) and “hot” mineral. In which, some kinds of minerals have large reserves such as cement limestone, clay-cement stone and building stone. Besides, some kinds of minerals have medium reserves such as kaolin, glass sand, iron and gold… On an average, the mineral mining companies have contributed VND50 billion to local budget each year.
