Dai-ichi Life funds clean water project
The Dai-ichi Life insurance company will appropriate VND 1 billion (US$48,000) for a project to install ultraviolet water filtration systems to supply clean water for rural schoolchildren.
Humanitarian organisation East Meets West (EMW) will implement the project from October 2011 to 2012, according to a partnership agreement signed with Dai-ichi Life in Hanoi on October 6.
The project will provide access to safe drinking water for over 12,000 schoolchildren in 24 rural schools in 10 provinces including Thai Binh, Bac Giang, Phu Tho, Quang Binh, Quang Ngai, Thua Thien – Hue, Binh Dinh, Tien Giang, Dong Thap and An Giang.
