At the meeting, the provincial People’s Committee briefly reported to the delegation on socio-economic situation of the province in 2011, the development plan in 2012 and the electricity development projects in the province.

Over the past year, although the province’s socio-economic situation met many difficulties, industrial and commercial production has gained a high result; a lot of big changes have been seen in investment promotion.

Striving to 2012, industrial production is expected to increase by 16% compared with 2011, a total retail sales up 25% and export turnover reaches USD150 million.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Hoang Quoc Vuong expressed his sympathy to difficulties in socio-economic development of the province and highly evaluated results that Quang Binh province obtained in the past time, especially work of site clearance and investment promotion.

Deputy Minister also agreed on orientations for industrial and commercial development of the province in 2012 and promised that the Ministry of Industry and Trade would pay special attention to the province’s suggestion to solve difficulties in rural electricity and direct relevant agencies and units to accelerate the progress of implementing the on-going electric projects in the province.
