General planning on construction of Hon La Economic Zone approved

Accordingly, Hon La Economic Zone is an economic complex with such key industries as industry - seaport - trade - services - tourism - urban center and agriculture, forestry and fishery. This is an key economic center of Quang Binh province with modern and comprehensive urban infrastructures, playing a key role to attract investment and promote development of other areas.
The Hon La Economic Zone has a population of about 58,000 people by 2020 and about 76,000 people by 2030.
The decision also specifies that orientation for space development of Hon La Economic Zone will has three artery roads, including national highway 1A, western road and coastal road; direction for development will focus on the northern seaport area of the economic zone, in which Hon La deep-water seaport is a nuclear area of the economic zone.
The functional areas of the Hon La Economic Zone include a non-tariff area with the scale of around 36 ha; a tariff area with a total land area for construction of the industrial area of about 1,486.5 ha and urban and rural residential areas, agricultural and forestry land...
