Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee speaks at the meeting

With the aim of the comprehensive renovation of the Vietnam’s education towards the standardization, modernization, socialization, democratization and international integration, the provincial educational sector made great efforts and achieved remarkable results for the 2011-2012 academic year.

In the 2011-2012 academic year, the sector has renovated the content, programme and methods of teaching and learning; raised the educational quality; deployed effectively the plan on universalization of pre-school and secondary school education; paid more attention to the educational work for mountainous areas, taken care of developing the system of semi-boarding schools, created more learning opportunities for rural children; actively responded the emulation movement titled “To build friendly schools, active students”. Order and discipline in examinations, in supervision, examination and inspection have been enhanced and the passiveness in teaching and learning has basically been halted. The results of the examinations are more substantial.

Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Quang praised and applauded excellent achievements that the educational sector obtained in the 2011-2012 academic year.

Standing Vice Chairman requested that in the time to come, the educational sector should focus on building and directing the implementation of the national target programme on education and training for the 2012-2015 period in association with socio-economic development of the province; taking effective solutions to reduce rate of weak and drop-out-of pupils.

Vice Chairman stressed that it is necessary to pay more attention to the contingent of teachers and educational managers both in quantity and quality in combination with the acceleration of implementing the campaign titled “Each teacher should set an example of morality, self-study and creativeness”; encourage all the activities to promote study and talent, to set up study societies; respond and deploy actively, obtaining many all-sided results; create a new motive force in teaching and learning; and raise the quality of comprehensive education.

The educational sector should upgrade the material and technical basis for the educational and training establishments in the direction of standardization, and at the same time reserve more attention to the development of educational and training work in the remote areas and the areas in difficulties, Vice Chairman added.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Education and Training awarded Certificates of Merit to the Quang Binh provincial Department of Education and Training for its obtained results in the 2011-2012 academic year and 3 collectives and 4 individuals for their excellent achievements in the emulation movements. The provincial People's Committee awarded the flag of emulation to the Department of Education and Training and 5 excellent collectives.
