Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai made this remark during his working visit to Quang Binh on September 9.

He also asked the provincial authorities to continue promoting their achievements and accelerate plans to exploit the province’s potential and advantages in the remaining months of this year.

The Deputy PM agreed with the province’s numerous plans, including those to exploit limestone for cement production and a pilot project for planting cotton to produce fabrics.

He requested that the province aim to attract more foreign investment and complete investment projects as scheduled, in addition to strengthening project management to avoid ineffective investment.

The Ministry of Transport was also asked to co-ordinate with Quang Binh authorities to upgrade roads connecting National Highway 1A with the Ho Chi Minh trail within the provincial boundaries to ensure traffic safety during the flood season.

Deputy PM Hai praised the province for its past achievements, especially increasing its forest coverage ratio to the highest level in the country. He said that afforestation and forest protection should be in line with economic development targets and improve the living standard of local residents.
