In 2012, although the economy met a lot of difficulties such as high prices of raw material, narrowed market, low consumption and high interest rate, with the great efforts made by all levels, agencies, enterprises and the people as a whole, the provincial economy has seen positive changes and remained growth rate; the society has been stable; the number of tourists to Quang Binh province has had a high increase; investment and construction management have seen big changes; administrative reform and anti-corruption have been strengthened; national defence and security, social safety and order have been maintained; social security have been paid attention; the people's life in difficult areas and ethnic minority areas has been improved step by step.

As estimated, economic growth rate of the province reached 7.1% (the plan of 8.5-9%); agro, forestry and fishery production value increased by 4.6% (the plan of 4.5%); industrial production value rose by 9.1% (the plan of 16-17%); value of service sectors rose by 11% (the plan of 11-12%); economic structure of agriculture, forestry and fishery accounted for 21.4%; industry and construction 36.2%, service 42.4% (the plan of 20%, 38% and 42% equivalently); food production reached 28.4 thousand tons (the plan of 26.5 thousand tons); budget revenues reached VND1,840 million, up 1.3% as compared with the local plan; export turnover was estimated at USD125.6 million, reaching 83.7% of the plan; GDP per capita reached VND20.6 million (the plan of VND19-20 million); solving jobs for 3.1 thousand laborers (the plan of 3-3.2 thousand laborers); rate of poor households reduced by 3.67% against the year 2011 (the plan of 3.5-4%).

In 2013, the province strives to reach the economic growth rate of 7.5-8%; agro, forestry and fishery production value up to 4-4.5%; industrial production value up to 9.5-10%; food production of 27 thousand tons; export turnover of USD135 million; services up to 10-11%; budget revenues of VND2,100 billion; average income per person of VND22 million a year; solving jobs for 3.1-3.2 thousand laborers and rate of poor households of 3.5-4% against the year 2012.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Huu Hoai highly evaluated the great efforts and obtained results of all levels, agencies and localities, and put forward solutions to deal with difficulties and shortcomings.

In the coming time, the province should carefully consider the planned targets; strengthen solutions to promote development of agriculture, industry, tourism, construction, health and education, said Chairman Hoai.
