Quang Binh welcomes the trans-Vietnam cyclists

(Quang Binh Website) - The Quang Binh Provincial People’s Committee and the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange (VAVA) welcomed the trans-Vietnam cyclists to Dong Hoi City on November 19th.

The event was attended by lieutenant-general Nguyen The Luc, Standing Vice Chairman of VAVA; Mr Lee Jae Keun, general manager of the cycling program; Mr Tran Tien Dung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; representatives of departments and branches at provincial levels and students in the province.

Towards the 20th anniversary of Vietnam-RoK diplomatic relations (December 22 1992 - December 22 2012), the VAVA in coordination with the RoK Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) hold a cycling program passing through 19 provinces and cities nationwide to call for more community support for AO victims.

The cycling program, taking place between November 1st and 26th, has the participation of 90 persons, of which 20 cyclists (10 Vietnamese people and 10 South Korean people), pedaling along national road No.1A, starting from Ho Chi Minh City to Ha Noi with a total length of 1,750 km.

This is a meaningful activity to strengthen friendly relations based on mutual trust and understanding between Vietnam and South Korea and to call for more community support for AO victims.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman Tran Tien Dung highly evaluated the significance of the cycling program and expressed his hope that the program will contribute to appeal to community support for AO victims and promote friendly relations between Vietnam and South Korea.

On this occasion, the cyclists directly presented 10 gifts to AO victims in Quang Binh province. The provincial People’s Committee also presented a souvenir gift and flowers to the organizers and members.
