Quang Binh, Khammouane review border landmark planting in the first half of 2013

(Quang Binh Website) - The Steering Committee for Demarcation and Landmark Planting of Quang Binh and Khammouane provinces on June 26 held the 10th meeting to review the implementation of increasing and embellishing Vietnam-Lao border landmark system between Quang Binh and Khammouane in the first six months of 2013 and finalized cooperation agreement between two provinces in the second half of 2013.

The meeting was attended by Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Tuan, head of the Quang Binh provincial Steering Committee for Demarcation and Landmark Planting; Mr. Oday Sudaphon, Deputy Governor of Khammouane Province, head of the Khammouane provincial Steering Committee for Demarcation and Landmark Planting and members of the Steering Committees of two provinces.

Over the past time, great achievements has made in increasing and embellishing Vietnam-Lao national landmark system between Quang Binh and Khammouane provinces. Two sides have carried out bilateral surveys, defined 52 out of 52 positions for landmark planting and built 51/52 landmarks. Two provinces have regularly held periodic meetings to exchange and solve difficulties in the implementation progress of landmark planting.

At the meeting, two sides discussed and agreed on implementation of increasing and embellishing Vietnam-Lao national landmark system across Quang Binh and Khammouane in the second half of 2013.

Under the plan, The Steering Committee for Demarcation and Landmark Planting of two provinces will convene the 11th meeting in Khammouane province at the end of this year to summarize work of landmark planting between two provinces.

On the spirit of solidarity and friendship, two sides signed a cooperation agreement on landmark planting for the forthcoming time.
