Cutting ribbons to inaugurate the temple in memory of heroic martyrs in Long Dai ferry-boat

The ceremony was jointly organized by the provincial People's Committee in coordination with the "Truong Son Sentiment" program - Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper and the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank).

The event was attended by Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Luong Ngoc Binh; Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People's Council Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong; Editor-in-Chief of Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper, Head of organizing board of the "Truong Son Sentiment" program Nguyen Tan Phong; Vietcombank Chairman of Board of Directors of Nguyen Hoa Binh together with Vice Chairmen of the provincial People's Committee and representatives of relevant departments and branches.

Situated in Hien Ninh commune of Quang Ninh district, Long Dai ferry-boat was an important place to transport thousands of tons of goods, weapons and human resources for the southern battlefield during the war for national liberation.

This place also left deep impressions in the memory of Truong Son's soldiers on great sacrifices of two collectives of voluntary youth while doing their mission.
In order to express the gratitude for great contributions of heroic martyrs to national liberation, the "Truong Son Sentiment" program - Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper and Vietcombank supported VND 10 billion to build a memorial temple for heroic martyrs in Long Dai old ferry-boat. After two years of construction, the temple has so far been completed.

This is not only a work in memory of heroic martyrs on Truong Son road but also a "red address" in the historical relic system of Truong Son road for tourists to visit and offer incenses when coming to Quang Binh province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Tran Tien Dung thanked for precious assistance of the "Truong Son Sentiment" program - Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper and Vietcombank in building the temple in memory of heroic martyrs in Long Dai ferry-boat.

Vice Chairman also asked all levels and agencies to propagandize on historical values of this humanitarian work in order to enhance the awareness and responsibility of young generation of heroic fighting spirit, faithfulness, great sacrifice, national love and precious sentiments for comrades and companions-in-arms.
