Incense offering marks War Invalids’ and Martyrs’ Day

(Quang Binh Website) - An incense-offering ceremony was held at the Ba Doc martyrs’ cemetery (Ly Trach commune, Bo Trach district) on the evening of July 26 to mark the 66th anniversary of War Invalids’ and Martyrs’ Day (July 27th 1947 - July 27th 2013).

The ceremony was attended by Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Luong Ngoc Binh; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Huu Hoai; members of the Standing Committee of the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee; representatives of agencies, unions and localities together with more than 1,400 members of the youth union in the province.

At the ceremony, provincial leaders laid wreaths and burnt incense in commemoration of heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence.

This is an annual activity to express the deep gratitude of young generations to heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the national struggle for independence and freedom.

At the same time, incense offering and candle lighting ceremonies simultaneously took place at 81 martyrs’ cemeteries and 04 memorial houses in the province to pay tribute to those who laid down their lives for the country’s independence.

The events drew the participation of 20,000 youths in the province.
