The conference was attended by representatives of the Provincial Party Committee Propaganda Department, the Provincial Tourism Association, related departments, press agencies and reporters in the province.

In the past time, mass fish deaths on the shores of the central provinces have seriously affected to all socio-economic fields of the province, of which tourism sector has hit the heaviest damages.

In order to cope with the fish death situation, the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism, and the Provincial Tourism Association have taken many long and urgent measures to support the province's tourism.

At present, according to regular test results of the Provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the quality of seawater on the shore of Quang Binh at five locations for testing, including beaches of Quang Phu, Quang Tho, Da Nhay, Nhat Le and Hai Ninh has met standards. However, beach activities have not still returned normally because of the unsafe psychology of some people and tourists, causing number of tourists to Quang Binh to reduce and many difficulties in tourism business.

With the aim of communicating messages on safe seawater for local people and tourists, helping them feel secure on swimming in the sea; promoting Quang Binh tourism trade name as "an attractive, safe and friendly destination", especially sea tourism, helping stimulate tourism and attract tourists to Quang Binh, the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism in coordination with related agencies and units deploys a tourism stimulus program 2016 with a series of main activities. They include the launch of bathing week from May 25th to 30th; Quang Binh cuisine festival 2016 from May 28th to 30th at Nhat Le Beach; a 30 percent cut in entrance fees at caves of Phong Nha, Tien Son and Thien Duong for tourists who stay at Quang Binh from May 26 to December 31st; and a 20-40 percent discount at some hotels and a 10-20 percent discount at restaurants.

Besides, tourism investment and promotion activities have been paid attention with a focus on main source of tourists from Hanoi and northern provinces, Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces, central provinces and countries from the Europe, US, Japan, South Korea and Thailand.

The province has also spread the images through DVD and clips about Quang Binh tourism to broadcast on VTV channel; and focus attention towards the development of MICE tourism by inviting the ministries and central agencies to organize conferences and workshops in Quang Binh.

In particular, quality of tourism services has also been improved, ensuring food safety and hygience, strengthening management of prices and opening attractive destinations such as "Exploring Va cave - Nuoc Nut cave, different experiences" route; Hoang Phuc pagoda - an ancient pagoda which has recently been restored with the biggest size in the central region; tour of discovering Thien Duong cave with 7,000 meters in length; and tour of Sinh Ton valley - trans Dark cave with a length of 6,000 meters.

Besides, in the forthcoming time, the cut in prices will aslo be applied to tourist transport by railway from Hanoi to Quang Binh and vice versa, taxi and tourist carriage.

At the press conference, delegates focused on discussing some issues and solutions to effectively deploy tourism stimulus program 2016 in Quang Binh, contributing to develop tourism to become a key economic sector of the province.
