In order to assist Quang Binh people in economic development, SNV will implement the FLOW/EOWE project in the 2016-2020 period.

The project is devoted to increase the opportunities and empowerment of women through increased access to agrobusiness sector, thereby narrow the gender gap.

The FLOW/EOWE project will conduct in four provinces, including Quang Binh, Binh Dinh, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan, focusing on three key pillars.

Under the first pillar, the project aims to enhance gender equality in families and communities through the adjustment in gender norms to facilitate women’s access to economic opportunities. The second pillar focuses on policy influencing and advocacy to increase the enabling environment for women to participate in economic activities. The last one focuses on supporting and empowering women to start, lead and promote their own business through increased access to inputs, technology and business assets.

In addition, the project strengthens the capacity and mechanisms of cooperatives to boost women’s leadership in agricultural cooperatives.

At the meeting, Mr. Raymand Brandes, project director said SNV will make all efforts to help people to effectively implement the FLOW/EOWE project.

He also expressed his hope that the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee will create favorable conditions for the project's operations to increase opportunities and empowerment of women in economic development and agriculture.

Apart from FLOW/EOWE project, SNV will continue strengthening cooperation and implementing other projects in Quang Binh in the forcoming time, he added.

On behalf of provincial leader, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee thanked SNV's assistance for the province's economic development in the past years, hoping that SNV will continue helping Quang Binh province in economic development and agriculture.

On the side of the province,Vice Chairman pledged to direct related agencies and localities to closely coordinate and have specific plans in order to effectively implement the FLOW/EOWE project.
