A boom in tours exploring Kong: Skull Island filming locations
Exotic Voyages, the Vietnam-based international travel agent, is the first travel firm to introduce a new tour named "New Kong: Skull Island", which lasts 10 days and 9 nights, to travelers who want to visit several of the locations in Vietnam appearing in Hollywood's blockbuster film.
In its introduction, the travel agent says: "In 2015, when Hollywood was searching for filming destination of King Kong 2 movie, for the wild and spectacular nature, they found Vietnam. Welcome to another shade of this fabulous country: a wealth of untouched nature. The no-man Skull Island reveals the primitive, majestic and tranquil beauty of Vietnam in virgin rainforests, countless mountain ranges, and incredible limestone caves. Let’s experience Vietnam in a way you’ve never done before on this exclusive King Kong tour made by Exotic Voyages.”
The tour costs from US$2,055 (approximately VND47 million) for an itinerary of Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Ha Long, Quang Binh, Ho Chi Minh City.
Meanwhile, many domestic tourism enterprises said they have received hundreds of phone calls from visitors looking for tours of famous film locations in the latest King Kong movie, such as Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh and Quang Binh provinces. Tourist companies expect to receive a great number of international visitors in this summer.
Earlier, Quang Binh provincial authorities have taken prompt action to grab the opportunity to attract tourists. The province successfully negotiated with the film crew on putting up a statue of three arms of Kong at Yen Phu Lake, Cha Noi Valley and Chuot Cave in Minh Hoa district.
Quang Binh province launched its official tourism website for international tourists at www.quangbinhtourism.com in February, aiming at promoting provincial tourism and showing the real image of the province.
