World’s largest cave Son Doong may be even bigger, say Thai rescuers
The world’s largest cave could be even larger than previously thought. Three divers who helped to rescue a Thai football team last year have said that the Son Doong cave in central Vietnam might actually be part of a larger cave complex after they explored a previously uncharted tunnel.

Son Doong is so big that it could house a New York city block. The main passage is more than 5km long and 200 metres high.
The British team found a waterlogged pit that may connect the cave to other chambers. They were forced back at 77m (252ft) because they did not have enough oxygen to push further, but they think the tunnels could be 120m deep.
