Attending the ceremony was Permanent Vice-chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Thi Bich Lua, representative of the Provincial People's Council, Department of Propaganda and Training, Study Promotion Society and related departments and branches.

In 2007-2008 school year, the provincial education sector obtained great achievements in examinations. At the 2nd Sport Competition for Disabled Pupils held in Quang Tri, Quang Binh's team ranked 6/15 provinces with 13 medals (4 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 6 bronze medals). At the National Athletic Competition for Pupils, Quang Binh won 6 medals (with 1 gold medal, 3 silver medals and 2 bronze medals). At the National Casio Calculator Mathematics Solve Competition at Central area, Quang Binh pupil team won 7 individual prizes (with 2 second prizes, 2 third prizes and 3 consolation prizes). At the National 12th grade Excellent Student Contest, Quang Binh won 30 individual prizes, namely 3 second prizes, 12 third prizes and 15 consolation prizes. Especially, two pupils of Quang Binh Gift High School, namely Diep Ngoc Thanh and Nguyen Tuan Anh were selected to attend the International Olympic Team.

Vice-chairwoman Pham Thi Bich Lua grants Certificate of Merit to excellent pupils

Addressing the ceremony, Vice-chairwoman Pham Thi Bich Lua praised achievements that the pupils obtained in all examinations, concurrently applauded the efforts of teachers who directly taught and created favorable conditions to help them in studying. She hoped that the pupils would continuously bring into play the obtained results and strive to become excellent pupils. She also suggested that all levels and departments and organizations should actively coordinate and assist mutually so that the cause of education of the province achieved higher results in the coming time.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificate of Merit to 30 pupils who won the prizes at the National 12th grade Excellent Student Contest and 32 cadres and teachers who made achievements in cultivating excellent pupils for the National Excellent Student Contest for 2007-2008 school year; Certificate of Merit to candidate Hoang Tuan Nam (Le Truc high school - Tuyen Hoa district) who won second prize of IV quarter in the 8th "Road to the Olympia Peak" Contest. The Department of Education and Training also granted Certificate of Merit to the pupils who won the prizes at the contests.
