Bo Trach district: promote goal to delete thatched cottages for poor people

(Quang Binh Website) - In order to help poor people overcome the difficulties and stabilize their life, in the past time, Quang Binh province has carried out many effective measures to delete temporary houses for poor people, directed localities to accelerate the implementation of Program 134 and build houses for the ethnic minorities.

Together with the whole province, Bo Trach district brought the target for deleting temporary houses for poor people in the socio-economic development target and consider it as a main goal of the district.

In order to complete the planned targets, since 2003-2007, the district had mobilized the support from the Central and local governments, organizations and individuals in and outside the province with total of VND 14,538 million to build houses for the ethnic minorities and poor households. Up to late 2006, deleted 493 thatched cottages for the ethnic minorities, built 54 houses of gratitude for beneficiaries of social welfare and 77 "Great Unity" houses. Besides, the district has been actively implementing the program for improving 950 houses for poor people and beneficiaries of social welfare in the 2008-2010 periods.

Program for deleting thatched cottages for poor people and building houses for the ethnic minority people not only contributes to helping poor households have a roof and reduce rate of poverty but also to be a motivation to help the people overcome difficulties and stabilize their life.
