Wartime bomb found in Quang Binh
A bomb weighing 334 kilos has been detected at a construction site in the central province of Quang Binh.
A man in Truong Thuy Commune saw the bomb at a depth of 1.5 metres while levelling the ground to build a livestock barn.

He quickly informed local authorities.
Following the report from Quang Binh’s Military Command, a team from the Mines Advisory Group (MAG) project came to the site to relocate the bomb.
It took the team two hours to extract the bomb. It is now waiting to undergo a controlled detonation.
Large numbers of wartime bombs have also been detected in Quang Binh.
The Ministry of Defence said that nearly 225,000 hectares of land across Quang Binh were affected by unexploded ordnance (UXO). Landmine or UXO accidents have claimed more than 2,930 lives in the province.
