Quang Binh, Khammouane intensify collaboration to gather fallen soldiers’ remains

(Quang Binh Portal) - The Special Working Committees of Quang Binh and Khammouane provinces had a talk and signed a collaboration agreement on searching and gathering sets of remains of the Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who laid down their lives during the war in Laos to repatriate before the 2015-2016 dry season.

The event was held in Thakhek town, Khammouane province from September 23 to 26.

The talk was attended by Vice Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee Tran Tien Dung, Head of the Special Working Committee of Quang Binh province; Vice Governor of Khammouane Province Somchay Phetsinouane, Head of the Special Working Committee of Khammouane province together with members of the Special Working Committees of two provinces and representatives of related agencies.


Signing a collaboration agreement on searching and gathering remains of the Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who laid down their lives during the war in Laos to repatriate before the 2015-2016 dry season.

At the talk, Head of the Special Working Committee of Quang Binh province expressed his thanks the Party, authorities, localities, armed forces and people of Khammouane province for their assistance in searching and gathering sets of remains during the 2014-2015 dry season.

On behalf of Khammouane province, Head of the Provincial Special Working Committee highly appreciated and acknowledged the efforts made by the Team 589 in helping the Lao ethnic minorities develop econmony, abolish unsound customs and build the cultural life, contributing to strengthening special solidarity and friendship between two nations of Vietnam and Laos in general, two provinces of Quang Binh and Khammouane in particular.

In order to boost collaboration in searching and gathering sets of remains according to the policy of the Party and Government of two nations, the Special Working Committees of Quang Binh and Khammouane province agreed to sign a collaboration agreement on gathering sets of remains of the Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who laid down their lives during the war in Laos to repatriate before the 2015-2016 dry season.

At present, more than 130 sets of remains of the Vietnamese volunteer soldiers are left in 81 villages of 10 districts in Khammouane province.
